#LightItUp4HD is a global awareness-raising campaign that takes place each year in May to help shine a light on Huntington’s disease and the impact it has on our community. It encourages major landmarks around the world to light up with the blue and purple colours of the Huntington Society. Huntington's disease is a rare, inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. Huntington's disease has a wide impact on a person's functional abilities and usually results in mobility, cognitive and psychiatric disorders.
The idea was to really capture the glow of these landmarks at night. That theme runs through the campaign icon, the gradients and the supporting symbols. As someone with a family history of Huntington’s, I was honoured to be part of the creation of this campaign.
